Critical Voices: Jesper Just

Sun, 6 Apr, 2014 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Jesper Just: In Conversation

Internationally celebrated installation/film artist Jesper Just represented Denmark in 2013 at the 55th Venice Biennale and is the subject of a current Contemporary Art Series exhibition at the Museum. Chief Curator Bruce Guenther and the New York-based artist will discuss his cross-platform work which is in the collections of over 25 museums including the Guggenheim, MOMA, and the Tate.

Conceived in 2006 and dedicated to the late art critic Clement Greenberg, the Critical Voices lecture series brings nationally and internationally renowned artists, art historians, critics, curators, and theorists to Portland to discuss the ideas that shape contemporary art and institutions worldwide. Past speakers have included Iwona Blazwick, John Elderfield, Richard Flood, Hal Foster, Michael Kimmelman, Rosalind Krauss, Mari Carmen Ramírez, and Peter Schjeldahl.

The series is sponsored in part by the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation.

Members free; nonmembers $15, seniors and students $12. Space is limited, so advance ticket purchase is recommended.
