A writer and scholar, Sanders was professor of history of ideas and English at Pitzer College in Claremont, Calif., and currently oversees the graduate program in critical theory and creative research at the Pacific Northwest College of Art. In 2005, Sanders won a Fulbright Senior Scholar Grant to investigate the idea of the commons in Greece. He is the author of 14 books and has been nominated for two Pulitzer Prizes.
