From the first acquisition in 1895 to the donation of Vincent van Gogh’s The Ox-Cart in 2007, the Museum’s extensive collection has grown to include thousands of works, many of which were gifts from Museum founders and generous members of our community.


Permanent Collections

The permanent collection, comprised of more than 42,000 objects reflecting the history of art from ancient times to today, is at the core of the Museum’s mission. More >

Provenance Research

The Museum participates in ongoing provenance research in an effort to enable rightful owners to identify works of art that were confiscated during the Nazi era. More >

Recent Acquisitions
The Museum continues its mission of collecting and preserving great works of art for the enrichment of present and future generations into its 114th year. To further this mission, the Museum continues to add significant works of art to its permanent collections, across all genres. In celebration of this effort, the Museum is pleased to announce the accession of these important works of art now on display throughout the Museum. More >
