Otto is the author of five novels including How to Make an American Quilt, which was a New York Times bestseller. Her work has appeared in anthologies, magazines, and in The Los Angeles Times, The San Francisco Chronicle, and The Oregonian. Her recent book, Eight Girls Taking Pictures, was published in November 2012.
