Internships

In support of its mission, the Portland Art Museum offers internships that provide unique opportunities for professional growth and development within a Museum setting. A broad range of internships are available to qualified undergraduate and graduate students. Internships are non-compensated, but students gain invaluable experience working at the Museum and may be able to earn educational credits for their work.

Although it is not generally required that interns have an art or art history major, departments may individualize their requirements according to their needs. Each department also determines its own internship application deadlines and start dates, and these may occur throughout the year.

All interested applicants must complete the online application process, which includes submitting an Application for Internship form and uploading a current résumé. Please review our current internship opportunities. [Opens a new window.]

For questions or concerns regarding the internship process, please email Human Resources. No phone calls please.
