Bike Friday Saturday

Saturday, July 27, 2013 – 9 a.m.

Bike Friday co-founder Alan Scholz talks about the company’s early days and the road ahead at 9:00 am, followed by a private viewing of the Museum’s Cyclepedia exhibition at 9:30, before the Museum opens to the public.

Bike Friday owners are invited to attend this one-time event, display their bikes on the Roberts Sculpture Terrace, and follow Alan on a ride through Portland later in the day.

Largos Cargos!

Saturday, August 3, 2013 – 10:30 a.m.

Join truck trike builder Bill Stites, Martina Fahrner from Clever Cycles, Joel Grover from Splendid Cycles, and EcoSpeed President Brent Bolton as they discuss the latest cargo biking options and their related benefits for play and work. Stites’ newest 2013 Truck Trike will be on display.

The presentation will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the Portland Art Museum’s Whitsell Auditorium and be followed by a private viewing of the Museum's Cyclepedia exhibition at 11 a.m. Cargo bikers are invited to attend this one-time event and display and talk about their own rides in the secure Roberts Sculpture Mall at the Museum.

Recumbent Reunion

Saturday, August 10, 2013 – 9 a.m.

 World traveler Sylvia Halpern and Lonnie Morse, builder of racing recumbents, team up at the Museum to talk about riding far and riding fast.

The presentation will begin at 9 a.m. in the Portland Art Museum’s Whitsell Auditorium and be followed by a private viewing of the Museum's Cyclepedia exhibition at 9:30 a.m. Recumbent owners are invited to attend this one-time event and display and talk about their own rides in the secure Roberts Sculpture Mall at the Museum.

E-Bike Saturday

Saturday, August 24, 2013 – 9 a.m.

Join Brad Davis, Operations Manager at EcoSpeed, Portland's electric bike motor maker, for an e-bike Show and Tell at the Museum.

Beginning at 9 a.m., Davis will share tips for choosing an electric bike and easy ways to get the best performance out of your electric ride. At 9:30 a.m., immediately following Davis' presentation, enjoy a private viewing of the Museum's Cyclepedia exhibition. Electric bikers are invited to attend this one-time event and display and talk about their own rides in the secure Roberts Sculpture Mall at the Museum.
